Terrazzo "come-back"

Fashion trends are cyclical, both in clothing and in architecture and interior design. The big difference is that clothes can be kept in a closet until they become Flea market fodder, while a home renovation forces us to live with the same materials for years, until they become trendy again. This is what happens with terrazzo: it was modernity for our grandparents, a fright for their children (our parents), and it is an opportunity for their grandchildren (us).

From indoor and outdoor tile to design leader.

One of the firms that has most vindicated the return of terrazzo to the forefront of design is Dzek. With their Marmoreal project they have managed to resurrect terrazzo and place it in the spotlight of current design. Their secret lies in much more striking and colorful patterns than we were used to.

From here on, there are already several design firms that have ventured to use terrazzo as the main element in their collections. Today we can find all kinds of objects made with terrazzo decorating various spaces in homes, hotels and restaurants.

WHERE TO PLACE TERRAZZO?

If in the 70's we found it almost exclusively on the floors of the most humble homes, today it is the star material in lamps, tables, design vases... Its versatility has no limits. Probably the key to its success lies in the hardness and resistance offered by this material, its low maintenance or the original designs that make up its stones.
